The Legislative Assembly, also known as the Vidhan Sabha, and the Legislative Council, also known as the Vidhan Parishad, are the two branches of the state legislature under this system. Through assembly elections, the public directly elects the Legislative Assembly’s members. The Legislative Assembly must pass a special resolution in order to establish or dissolve the Vidhan Parishad, or Legislative Council, which is a permanent body.

Nara Chandrababu Naidu (April 20, 1950) is the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He was the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after it was separated, holding office from 2014 to 2019. Prior to the state’s division, he was Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister from 1995 to 2004. From 2004 to 2014, he represented the opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He has governed as Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister for the greatest period of time (14 years).
